This strip of land that lies between the western Andean range and the mighty Pacific Ocean is a place full of dense rainforests, raw coastlines, and massive biodiversity. It is mostly inhabited by Afro-Colombian and Indigenous communities who guard a rich cultural heritage and incredible gastronomic traditions.

The heavy precipitation and warm temperatures make it the perfect home for more than 600 bird species, 100 mammal species, 185 amphibians, 192 reptiles and 570 fish species.
